The project is a result of successful joint-venture deal between Litex Motors and the largest private automaker in China Great Wall Motors. This is the first plant of the Chinese producer within the European Union that targets the local and EU market.

The plant, situated near the city of Lovetch, has the most modern equipment for production of passenger vehicles. The young and qualified specialists of Litex Motors produce cars with Great Wall brand that cover all ecological and quality requirements of the European Community.

The Investment

The plant is a large-scale project; the initial investment, approximating 95 million EUR, is made mainly by the Bulgarian partner.

The construction of the plant began with signing of a cooperation agreement between Litex Motors and Great Wall Motor in the autumn of 2009. In November 2011, the first vehicle was manufactured at the new plant-the small super mini-class hatchback Voleex C10 from the test series. Three months later the series production of Bulgarian vehicles was initiated.

Volkswagen New Beetle

Concept 1
At the 1994 North American International Auto Show, Volkswagen unveiled the J Mays-penned “Concept 1″ with lines heavily influenced by the original Beetle. It was equipped with “large diameter” 17 inch wheels (with the VW logo, just like the original Beetle hub cap) with low-profile tires. Also, in the concept car, there was a “zero emission” hybrid design.
First generation
2003-2005 New Beetle convertible
Strong public reaction persuaded the company to move the car into production,[citation needed] and in 1998 Volkswagen launched the New Beetle, designed by J Mays and Freeman Thomas at the company’s California design studio. The New Beetle is related to the original only in name and appearance (including the absence of a car emblem script with the exception of the VW logo): under the hood, it is a modern car in every way, based on the Volkswagen Group A4 platform (Volkswagen Golf Mk4). A convertible was added in 2003 to replace the Volkswagen Cabrio.
Still, it carried many design features related to the old Beetle: separate wings, vestigial running boards, sloping headlamps and large round tail lights, as well as a high rounded roofline that provides enough headroom for tall drivers.

Safety Standard Design For Bumpers On Passenger Cars

All vehicles in the United States are required by law to have bumpers. Usually installed at the cars front and rear ends, bumpers play a very important role in maintaining passenger safety. Primarily, bumpers are designed to absorb impact during low to medium-impact collisions. Nowadays, though, bumper design is also developed to reduce injuries on pedestrians upon collision with the car.

The government first began requiring the use of bumpers to prevent damage to safety auto parts such as the headlights. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued this as a countrywide regulation for all passenger car bumpers. Standards for bumper designs were implemented for each kind of vehicle. Design standards also differed according to the height and size of the vehicle, to ensure maximum absorption of collision impact.

Car design companies obtain licenses for bumper designs by passing the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) Test before presenting it to manufacturers. Long- running car design and manufacturing companies located in places such as Chico, California have been producing effective bumper designs for years and have been complying with industry standards.

Bumper standards have passed through two stages of development. When standards were first implemented, passenger car bumpers were required to prevent any damage to safety-related auto parts other than the bumper. More recent developments in bumper safety standards reduced test impact speeds from 5 mph to 2.5 mph for front and rear testing, and from 3 mph to 1.5 mph for corner testing. Bumpers on all modern cars, even used cars Chico, must comply with all these standards.
