Over Fifty Uses for Different Oils

The other day, while working as an assistant manager in a discount store, a customer burst through the door, seemingly in a hurry, and asked where to find oil. Wanting to help I asked him “What kind of oil?” A confused look came over his face, as he continued to wait for an answer. I then asked, cooking oil, baby oil, motor oil, lamp oil, hair oil, mineral oil… I could see from his facial expression that it had not dawned on him that we carried more than one kind of oil. He was not the first customer to ask this question, and undoubtedly will not be the last.

A Specific Question Gets Better Results

I told my husband about the customer and his oil, and our conversation caused me to think of the endless possibilities. I researched a hand full of household oils, and have compiled a list. I found it to be truly fascinating, and hope you will too:

1. Almond Oil: Assists in elevating HDL levels. Should not be mixed with bitter almond Oil, as the mixture can be lethal.

2. Alpha-tocopheryl Acetate: A form of vitamin E known to protect cells from free radicals, aid in DNA repair and disease immunity

3. Beta Carotene: Vitamin A also red palm Oil. A deficiency of A can lead to abnormal bone development, disorders of the reproductive system, eye disease and ultimately death, however it is not recommended that smokers or those exposed to asbestos take the supplement. For them a daily supplement increases the risk of lung and prostrate cancer so natural sources of vitamin A are recommended.

Lawn Mower Tips – Lubrication And Oil

The Principals behind Lubrication (oil) in You’re Lawn Mower:

Lubrication

Lets start off with the Lubrication process.  Lubrication is the process of reducing friction between sliding surfaces by introducing a slippery r smooth substance between them.  A film of engine oil serves to seperate and lubricate machined surfaces.  When parts are in motion, oil molecules roll over one another like microscopic ball bearings.  These lubricants comes in dry (powdered), semi-dry (grease), and liquid (oil) forms.  Oil is the most important lubricant for small engine use (lawn mower), simply because it it often the only lubrication the engine needs.  Each time you get ready to mow your lawn check the oil level in your lawn mower.   If needed, add oil (but not too much) and check the reading on the oil stick.   If you run these small engines without the proper oil you can easily cause the engine to overhead and stop running and then you will be looking for guys like me to fix the problem for you and that could end up costing more than you paid for the mower.  Just keep the oil checked prior to each start.

Friction – * Oil is the most important lubricant used for engine lubrication

How to Clean Oil Stains From Carpet

To remove oil stains from carpet is a very tough challenge. This happened to me about 6 months ago when my son walked in car oil outside then walked all the way across my living room leaving a trail of black oil on my rug. I though oh no we are going to have to buy new carpet there is no way in the world that this will ever come out.. Boy was I wrong I decided to go the parts house and grab there purple cleaner. You see my husband works on cars and when they are detailing that’s what they are using on the seats so.. Here is what I did..

Step 1

Spray it on a spot that is hidden to be sure that it won’t remove the color or damage the carpet.

Step 2

Now if that worked you will want to spray it directly on the stains. Allow it to sit for a few minutes. So that it can penetrate the oil..

Step 3

Then once it has had enough time to break down the oil. You can clean the rug as normal. When you shampoo make sure that you are getting all of the soap out of the rug.

Step 4

Now then when the rug is totally dry you will want to vacuum. If the stain is still there you will want to repeat the steps..
