Lawn Mower Tips – Lubrication And Oil

The Principals behind Lubrication (oil) in You’re Lawn Mower:

Lubrication

Lets start off with the Lubrication process.  Lubrication is the process of reducing friction between sliding surfaces by introducing a slippery r smooth substance between them.  A film of engine oil serves to seperate and lubricate machined surfaces.  When parts are in motion, oil molecules roll over one another like microscopic ball bearings.  These lubricants comes in dry (powdered), semi-dry (grease), and liquid (oil) forms.  Oil is the most important lubricant for small engine use (lawn mower), simply because it it often the only lubrication the engine needs.  Each time you get ready to mow your lawn check the oil level in your lawn mower.   If needed, add oil (but not too much) and check the reading on the oil stick.   If you run these small engines without the proper oil you can easily cause the engine to overhead and stop running and then you will be looking for guys like me to fix the problem for you and that could end up costing more than you paid for the mower.  Just keep the oil checked prior to each start.

Friction – * Oil is the most important lubricant used for engine lubrication

How to Clean Oil Stains From Carpet

To remove oil stains from carpet is a very tough challenge. This happened to me about 6 months ago when my son walked in car oil outside then walked all the way across my living room leaving a trail of black oil on my rug. I though oh no we are going to have to buy new carpet there is no way in the world that this will ever come out.. Boy was I wrong I decided to go the parts house and grab there purple cleaner. You see my husband works on cars and when they are detailing that’s what they are using on the seats so.. Here is what I did..

Step 1

Spray it on a spot that is hidden to be sure that it won’t remove the color or damage the carpet.

Step 2

Now if that worked you will want to spray it directly on the stains. Allow it to sit for a few minutes. So that it can penetrate the oil..

Step 3

Then once it has had enough time to break down the oil. You can clean the rug as normal. When you shampoo make sure that you are getting all of the soap out of the rug.

Step 4

Now then when the rug is totally dry you will want to vacuum. If the stain is still there you will want to repeat the steps..

How to Change the Oil in a Car

STEP1- To avoid any burns and to change old engine oil, it is must required that your car engine be shut off for at least 10 to 15 minutes. There is an “oil cap” on the top of your car engine, remove the oil cap first. There is another “oil drain nut” located on bottom of the engine oil pan.

STEP2-Unscrew the oil drain nut with a wrench and socket; put the oil drain pan under your car engine. Remove the oil drain nut and drain the old oil into the pan so the floor doesn’t get messy or unsmooth.

STEP3- There is an oil filter which you can either decide to clean or change completely based on your preferences. It is better to replace it completely, but a throughout cleaning job will save you money if you decide to go that route. After cleaning or changing the filter put back all the screws and the nut properly and tightly. Don’t forget to put a thin layer of oil around the oil filter ring. This is protecting the oil filter to any oil leaking.

STEP4- Put a funnel into the hole of the top of engine cover. Refilling the oil how much your engine required as the manual. Close back the oil cap and cleans the excess oils.
